At Your Art, we harness talent by reaching out to both young and old artisans. They possess the skill inherited over time and generations from their families. This becomes our base where we work with them. In the process, we upgrade their skills, contemporise their art and give them access to a large marketplace. It is our task to position their work as an aspirational purchase.
Your Art, by successfully creating world-class products, has travelled from these remote villages to countries as far as the United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Dubai apart from the large cities in India. We employ several families in villages and tribal clusters from Maharashtra, Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and sensitise the artist community on the need to make traditional products with modern work practices. The creation of this work ethic is often challenging and needs sustained effort. Your Art’s team works round the clock to make this possible.
Tripti Kedia – Catalyst for Artisan Empowerment
From Journalism to Entrepreneurship – Tripti Kedia’s journey with Your Art began in 2010, but her passion for uplifting others has always been a driving force. After a successful career in broadcast journalism, Tripti decided to redirect her talents towards a social cause close to her heart – preserving the arts and crafts of India and empowering the artisans who practice them.
- Awakening the “CAUSE” Buyer
A key part of Tripti’s mission is to encourage everyone to become what she calls the “CAUSE” buyer – Conscious, Appreciative, Unique, Social and Ethnic. Here’s what that means:
Conscious: Aware of the impact of your purchases and choosing to support ethical, sustainable businesses.
Appreciative: Valuing the skill, time and tradition behind hand-crafted products.
Unique: Seeking out one-of-a-kind, meaningful items instead of mass-produced goods.
Social: Using your purchasing power to create positive social change for artisans and their communities.
Ethnic: Celebrating and preserving cultural heritage by buying traditional arts and crafts. - A Vision of Artisan Innovation
Tripti works tirelessly to sensitize the artist community to the needs and tastes of the modern global market. She encourages them to innovate and contemporize, while still honoring their traditional skills and knowledge.
In Tripti’s vision, the next generation of Indian folk and tribal artisans will continue to thrive, pushing boundaries and finding new ways to express their incredible creativity. Your Art is her way of making that vision a reality, one purchase at a time. - “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others,…he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope…” – Robert F.
